Chiropractic Adjustment:

Joint manipulation increases flexibility and range of motion in the joint. It breaks down scar tissue, improves blood flow, stretches muscles, and speeds healing.  The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as “spinal manipulation,” also called “chiropractic adjustment.”   The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.
Dr. Jack uses a “diversified technique” which means that he uses a variety of different styles of chiropractic to reach the desired outcome.

Massage Therapy:

A variety of massage techniques are used to decrease pain, reduce swelling and loosen tight muscles.

Pregnancy and Chiropractic

The Kinesis Docs are certified in the Webster technique, as defined by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), is “a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces interference to the nerve system and balances maternal pelvic muscles and ligaments. This in turn reduces torsion in the uterus, a cause of intra-uterine constraint of the baby and allows for optimal fetal positioning in preparation for birth.”

Functional Movement Screen:

The FMS is a product of years of innovation and current research, and has recently become mainstream with many professional athletic organizations.  The Philosophy starts with a system that monitors fundamental movement patterns.  By screening these patterns, functional limitations and muscle asymmetries are readily identified.  The FMS Score allows Dr. Hewitt to target the problem and track your progress.  Based on your FMS score and individual movement control, Dr. Hewitt will prescribe corrective strengthening exercises, and stretches to your current training program, or rehabilitation program.  This screen is equally effective in fitness and sports conditioning because it targets the “weak link in movement”.

Muscle Stretching and Strengthening:

In combination they provide a balance between mobility and stability that improves posture, relieves pain, and prevents injury.

Cold Laser Therapy:

Low-level light therapy that uses a cold red laser and infrared technology to reduce inflammation, reduce pain and accelerate tissue repair.

Electrical Stimulation:

Delivers impulses to the muscles to increase circulation decrease pain and decrease muscle spasm.

Therapeutic Ultrasound:

Pain relief, reduces muscle spasms, reduces joint contractures by producing a deep heat with micro-vibration.

Kinesio Taping:

Applied over muscles to reduce pain and inflammation, relax overused tired muscles, and to support muscles in movement.

Postural Analysis:

Identifying and correcting muscle imbalances in the body to improve overall strength and endurance, and decrease pain and damage to soft tissues and joints.

Spinal Decompression:

A specialized table used to treat disc bulge or herniation by decreasing the pressure within the disc space, allowing rehydration and restoration of the disc.

Ergonomic Evaluations:

Ergonomics involves workstation set-up and design, body posture, prevention of computer-related injuries and more.

AN EVOLUTION IN TREATMENT USING APPLIED FUNCTIONAL NEUROLOGY
TRIGENICS® is a neurogenic assessment and treatment system which rapidly relieves pain and restores strength and movement.  Trigenics® is most often used by chiropractic or osteopathic physicians and physiotherapists as a unique and dramatically effective treatment system which combines recent advances in applied functional neurology with new manual medicine procedures. With Trigenics® your nervous system is treated to essentially reset the way your brain communicates with your body.  (This is analogous to how one “re-boots” their computer to restore function following an otherwise non-correctable malfunction when the screen or mouse “freeze”.)  Doctors and therapists in the manual medicine fields, who use Trigenics, often refer to it as the “missing element” of care.  Trigenics® often helps when all else has failed.

EIGHT PREDOMINANT TRIGENICS TREATMENT OUTCOMES FOR  THE REHABILITATION PATIENT:
1. Restoration of sensorimotor control and function
2.  Restoration of optimal resting muscle tone
3.  Restoration of intra-articular mobility and joint biomechanics
4.  Restoration of unimpeded tissue movement
5.  Inflammation reduction
6.  Decreased pain
7.  Restoration of optimum neural function
8. Increased strength

Graston Technique:

The Graston Technique® incorporates a patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal function.

Developed by world-renowned musculoskeletal expert Dr. Andreo Spina, Functional Range Conditioning® is a comprehensive joint training system based in scientific principals and research.

There are three main goals when training using FRC system and all are closely interrelated, and acquired simultaneously:

Mobility Development

Mobility refers to the amount of active, usable motion that one possesses. The more mobile a person is, the more they are able to maximize their movement potential safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Joint Strength

While improving mobility and movement potential, the FRC system also acts to “bullet proof” (or safe-guard) your joints so that movement can be executed safely.

Body Control

Training with FRC improves the function of your nervous system. This leads to a reduction of pain and injury, joint health and longevity, as well as an increased ability to move freely and easily.

FRA is a measurement based assessment system that provides objective measures of an athletes movement capacity for each and every articulation.  Then training inputs (FRC®) are able to be directed at the individual’s specific deficits.

Manipulation Under Anesthesia – MUA

Manipulation under Anesthesia is the art, science and practice of the restoration of normal function of bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments.  The overall objective is to relieve the patient’s pain and disability, to normalize joint ranges of motion and to restore the integrity of musculoskeletal function of the spine and extremities without incisional surgery. MUA is a gentle manipulation technique that can provide a more aggressive approach to conditions which are either minimally responsive or unresponsive to conservative clinical management.  The MUA is performed while the patient is in a relaxed “twilight state” and monitored under the care of an Anesthesiologist.  It is truely a team effort with the anesthesiologist, the primary doctor, the co-attending doctor and the nursing staff all working together to complete the procedure and achieve the desired results.

Corporate Wellness – Lunch’n Learn

A healthy work force is a productive work force.  Our goal is to help companies and organizations lower their healthcare costs and improve the health, fitness, and performance of their most valuable asset – their people.  Dr. Jack frequently speaks with corporations about ways to prevent common conditions such as headaches, poor posture, carpal tunnel syndrome, or any other health related topics that are of interest to that particular business.  In addition to the 10 min health talk, we also provide a healthy lunch to your entire staff, and have one our therapists doing complementary 5-10 min chair massages.  Dr. Mallory Feinberg, DC and myself will be available to answer any health related questions that your staff may have.

Book your “Lunch’n Learn” event, and make your staff healthier, happier, and more productive.
